NEWS AND NAME CHANGES!
PIONEERS CHANGE NAME
At the 2002 Pioneers annual Meeting a name change was authorized for the Pioneers. Known as the Telephone Pioneers of America since founding in 1911, The organization had
changed its name "TelecomPioneers". The name change was is intended to better align Pioneers with the high-technology direction of sponsor companies and to strengthen
the organization痴 appeal to potential new members. Additional detail is available at the region home which can be reached through the link above.
CHAPTER REORGANIZATION AND NAME CHANGEChanges have also taken place at the Chapter level in New York. What
was previously known as the Empire State Chapter #98 has been divided into two smaller chapters. As a result the Eastern portion of the Empire State Chapter consisting of the
Capital Valleys, Mid Hudson Valley, Willett Central, Glens Falls, Oneonta/Norwich, and Plattsburgh councils and the associated life member clubs, are now identified as
the "Mountain Valley Empire" Chapter of the TelecomPioneers.
